Organizations and interpreters listed on this page agree to abide by the National Standard Guide for Community Interpreting Services - NSGCIS

The NSGCIS recommends that interpreting skills and competencies should be demonstrated through the following:

• Post secondary education, preferably a recognized degree of at least three years duration in translation or interpretation or a related field.
  

• Interpreting training/education by a recognized academic institution.
  

• Successful completion of a Language proficiency test (such as CILISAT or ILSAT in Ontario )
  

• Documented experience in the field.
